Plain Mailers and Bags: A Seller Supply List
What to buy for shipping worn items, with rough costs per package.
The short list
| Item | What to buy | Rough cost |
|---|---|---|
| Outer mailer | Plain white or gray poly mailers, 6x9 or 10x13 | About $10 to $15 for 100 |
| Inner bag | Resealable freezer bags, or a small vacuum or heat sealer | Bags under $0.10 each. Heat sealers start around $25. |
| Scale | Kitchen or postal scale in ounces | About $12 |
| Labels | Thermal label printer or plain printer paper with tape | $0 to $60 |
How to pack one
- Fold the item and put it in the inner bag. Press the air out or heat-seal it.
- Slide the bag into a plain mailer. Nothing printed on the outside.
- Weigh the package and buy postage with tracking.
- Take the package photo with the label showing. You need it to mark the order shipped.
Keep it plain
Skip logos, perfume and anything that looks like a gift. A plain mailer looks like clothing from any online store, which is the point. We never ship for you. You pack it, you mail it, you upload tracking and the photo.
